Andrew Headshot

Andrew McDonald MRICS

Chartered surveyor and property consultant

Andrew has more than 25 years in the property investment and occupational markets. With a specialism in the retail property market, Andrew’s knowledge of the UK’s high streets, towns, and shopping centres is considerable. He co-founded Tandem Real Estate alongside Andrew Taylor.

Andrew has a wide range of experience across various asset classes and transaction types, including complex mixed-use property investment portfolios and leasing major London shop units, to advising on shopping centre developments. He also has an extensive network of contacts across property institutions, pension funds, and high profile property companies.

As Co-founder of Tandem Real Estate, Andrew has watched towns evolve and seen our work and home lives increasingly overlap. He believes that the repurposing of defunct commercial properties is key to tackling the current housing shortage.

Andrew is a Certified Practitioner of NLP and qualified in Effective Coaching & Mentoring with the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM).

When he’s not touring the UK for work, Andrew rides his motorbike or runs trail races for ‘fun’ near his home in Surrey. He’s completed the Marathon des Sables.

Paul Norbury MRICS

Chartered surveyor and property consultant

Paul has worked within the retail property sector for over 25 years with various corporate agencies, including Cushman & Wakefield and Strutt & Parker. He now runs a boutique commercial property agency, Norbury Sansom, where he advises landlords and occupiers on leasing and acquiring trading space.

Paul also acts as a consultant for developers, providing up-to-date market information and analysis on occupier demand and trends, ensuring they have their finger on the pulse through the bidding and development process.

With a specialism in the retail warehousing sub-sector of the retail property market, Paul is conscious of the sensitivities of our high street to external threats. He believes the town centres of the future will look radically different, providing an eclectic mix of experiential retailing, F&B, residential, and community uses.

When not touring the towns and cities of the UK looking at retail space, Paul can be found walking his dog on the local trails of west Berkshire or riding his motorbike, taking in the sites. He’s partial to a bit of fly-fishing, too.
